What is NLP?

NLP explores the relationship between how we think (Neuro-), how we communicate (-Linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (Programming). It enables us to understand what makes us, and other people, 'tick'.

NLP was developed in the 1970s by a group of psychologists and linguists who studied successful people in order to analyse human behaviour. They considered styles of language, brain patterns and how words and actions are linked together to form sequences of behaviour.

They set out to learn how people who were exceptional in their field did what they did. The key questions were 'what works?' and 'what is the difference that makes the difference?'

A process to interpret human experiences was developed, and today NLP provides us with a toolkit collected from many examples of success. The benefit of NLP is that it enables you to take action to help shape your own life.
